KSP Treasure Hunt 2007 (Kuala Lumpur - Penang) 27&28 Oct 2007

6.30am morning..we are 2nd car!
Final briefing before Flag Off
House of Peace pose - that's Steven on the ground!

A new year, a new team and of course, a brand new theme – Superheroes.
Building the initial team took some effort but at the last minute, we were only down with 3 people, lacking an additional one member. As the saying goes, when there’s a will, there’s a way, scanned through mobile directory and tried to hunt for a potential friend who may be keen on going.
Hooray - Pui San said "YES" and a full-team "Anti-Heroes" was born on the spot!

This year's Treasure Hunt, i.e. my 3rd, marking my third year in the firm could not be missed.
A better year; a new team with new fun and exciting experiences ahead. Well-equiped this time?
Still the same with basic dictionaries, and yeah...more food stuff to munch while crunching on tough riddles that make our heads spin. Attending the hunt made me realise that there's more to superheroes than what I know - despite the inquisitive mind when we were young after watching all those cartoons.

Basically a great time overall to cherish and remember. Why hold on to unpleasant memories, when
the main intention of the trip really built closer friendship and allowed each of us to get to know one another a whole lot better

Well, "Anti-Heroes"...no doubt we won no prize... we had plenty of fun ! Thanx guys..(Steven, Chu Guan and Pui San )
Shee Ghee and Boon Ching's team won first...wow..congrats!

Signing off...a short breakway from work before reaching peak period.

Oh yeah, details: Flag off at Science Centre, Hartamas
Stayed at Corpthorn Orchid Tanjung Bungah. Food was errmmm..pretty bad.
Saved by the local authentic Penang delicacies along Gurney drive.
Also thankful to Chu Guan's friend - Lee Chin for taking us around for yummy steam fish noodles
Stopped by Ipoh along the way back for some Ipoh toast and Ipoh white coffee. Lovely.

Mummy's birthday

Happy Birthday!

Expected a quiet celebration, really. Like an ordinary day (with the exception that I was on leave ~hoorays~), the day went absolutely normal. I carried on with my usual regular plans - going out and hanging out.... making sure that I was home for dinner with mum

There's the advantage of having relatives living all around - people whom care and will somehow remember your birthdays Everyone wanted to surprise the "cikgu" with a cake.

Mini celebration at Uncle Brace's place was wonderful and nice, as depicted by few family photo moments below.

Happy Birthday Mummy!!!

Hari Raya holidays! Visit to Eye on Msia, Dinner @ Chulan Square

Grey skies...oh no..
A short distance away
All excited!! :D
View all 27 photos...
Long Hari Raya break is here! Most of us are in KL enjoying the clear roads (free from traffic) and relaxing at home. Can't just sit here at home and not go anywhere...

Sunday evening @ 6pm: We gathered at CJ's place, and off we drove to Titiwangsa to visit Eye on Malaysia...meeting Hau Jie and gf there. Skies were grey as it was raining rather heavily in the afternoon - that kinda dampened my confidence as I was hoping to watch a bright sunset.
After much tousle at the ticket counter to get our discount entitlements... the sun had already set...and we were in for complete night view.

For a 13-minute ride (something like 4 rounds) for RM15 per person, it was a nice experience being much higher in the air to capture some skyline moments. Unfortunately my camera isn't tuned to good night view...nevertheless, experience gained and enjoyed counts much more.
We had fun though... all of us...

Dinner time! Yeah...everyone concurred to have some nicer food along Chulan Square.
We stopped by Bangkok Jazz to have a peek at the menu, and finally settled with trying out
"Gauche Grill" (seems like some Spanish restaurant with the bar-like setting).
Food wise, not bad - nice salad...and well, very very filling.

Night was still young; we headed to Fion's house in Cheras for a game of cards (erm, drinking games? Yes, I will admit that I lost twice and forced to gulp down some shots).
Anyway, it was some harmless fun and enjoyable to be in good company of friends.
Ended off the night with a more than wonderful walk around the neighbourhood, admiring the houses and landscape of this oh-beautiful housing area (situated on a hilly top), being blown away by the cool breeze - just like Genting. From a park, we were enthralled by the beautiful stars and night view of Kajang town, and Genting from afar...wow.. A place to be alone with a special someone

A really great time with you all (Ti Kean, Chuan Jye, Mun, Senan, Hau Jie & gf)...thanx guys and gals Till our next time outs together...cheerios..

Mr Choo's a year older! It was nice of his good friends, Keng Sing and Yong Lim to organise a nice dinner celebration for Heng Hee at Alexis, Great Eastern Mall.
After a fancy dinner - trying this and that in little portions, we had yummy cake too!
Banana chocolate from Secret Recipe...yummy...

Alas, no jazz band as I have hoped as it was a weeknight..but it was nice to
step into Great Eastern Mall along Jalan Ampang (a place I haven't been to, yet heard so much talk).
Best wishes to Heng Hee May all his wishes come true!

FS Day - Selesa Resort, nearby Bukit Tinggi

FS Day! Supposely just ONE day of Fun. This year's FS was different - we kicked off FS Day on a Sunday afternoon at Selesa Resort, nearby exit to Bukit Tinggi.

We were truly in for some outdoor adventure this FS Day. Not that it was too surprising, taking into consideration that last year we had some fancy PaintBall session (as the saying goes "No pain no gain" ) That wasn't really for me...but it definitely tells me that FS people are an outgoing bunch of people who are really YOUNG at heart!

It was nice to be able to stay together with friends for a change - I hardly get to do that with my PwC friends, and yeah...first time bunking over together with Fui Yoon, Heng Hee and Yong Lim were wonderful. We had late night chat till 3am....so many things to talk about...

I must certainly mention that I can't believe that I managed the 25 feet high obstacle spider web!
My phobia of heights certainly gave me a no-no, and I was in a verge of giving up when all my SMs were like supporting me all the way. I have to admit that support and encouragement from friends and people who know you go a long way
Didn't try out tube rafting though my other friends did - and they simply lurved it. It's still a scary outdoor sport for me - need to try something more mild.

Well, it was a good trip, though I was still tired...and no, we didn't get a day off after returning on Monday. It was work-work-course-course.
Aiks...interim audit is starting again, and the whole audit cycle begins!

Yay! It's that time of the year again when I look forward to volunteering for social work for PwC.
Not only it's 'non-audit', it's my part of contributing to the society in something I believe in and feel passionately about - teaching kids and touching their lives in a small, small way

Although all plans weren't exactly the way I imagined (I was to go to another home near Zoo Negara with my close batch mate, Tiffany), but hey...nice that someone wanted to swap at the last minute - I got one closer to home... just a mere 15-20 minutes drive home, and home for lunch almost EVERY single day.

Dini and I were assigned together - allowing me to make a new friend from Tax.

Oops...gotta go.. shall continue another day

Farewell Dinner at Rakuzen Japanese Restaurant, Chulan Square...
[Thank you to Heng Hee for being the main organiser ]
Attendees: Many Many friends from the firm...and friends who have already left and started off life elsewhere...

How sad...it's farewell to a friend from the firm, a guy whom I had no chance to work with, but was fortunate to get to know There was also a time we had a PC&D workshop (Firm people would understand the term..hehe), and KS asked me to be his 'coachee' or 'acting mentee'.
Instead of going through the gruesome process of formal evaluation, he gave me some good tips on surviving and getting through the obstacles at work, which I really thank you for )
Keng Sing's a really funny person, a good friend and definitely someone popular in the firm - gonna miss his laughter and seeing him around the office.

Good things don't come to an end; friendship does continue... and I believe that he's taking the next step for much better things to come.

My good wishes goes out to him!

SNG 4 Dinner @ Delicious

View all 6 photos...
These pictures were taken from Shie Lin's slideshow website for our SNG 4 group. They are rather tiny-mini, but wanted to treasure the moment - our SNG4 dinner @ Delicious Cafe, Bangsar Village.
As noted, most people turned up for the oh-so-much food spectacular. When we received the email in advance to pre-order our main meal, I didn't expect more than that.
Amazingly, our budget allowed us to have not just one, but assorted appetizers, soup, juice...
then our main meal (much later when most of us were so stuffed!).... followed by mouth-watering
desserts that tempt the heart's desire.

Didn't stay for the whole event as I was catching a ride in Steven's car. Nevertheless, I had a Fantastic and Dellliccccious time indeed
