My Farewell Dinner...

Sook Yee and me
All gals - Pui San, Fui Yoon, Sook Yee and me

So long...farewell...
This time I was the celebrated one when my friends wished me farewell and goodbye.

April 10, 2008 marked my last day with PwC, as I handed in my laptop and glanced back into the office with one last goodbye. 3 years of my life had been spent trying to learn as much as I can in the assurance line, gaining as much exposure in audit as I possibly could during this tenor, and here I am.... making a move out.

I really owe it to my friends to try to organise a happy farewell for me.
Keeping it as a surprise, not leaking one bit about the guest list, the venue and even what's up and about as we approached the day. I am touched by their kindness, even though initially I was against the idea. Farewells make me sad, so why have one that
leaves you feeling sad? My friends have proven otherwise. Since everyone had such a good time, I felt happy. Appreciate everyone's effort for turning up and
spending the time with me Truly wonderful friends to have.

A special dedication goes out to Heng Hee, Fui Yoon, Chu Guan, Steven, Sook Yee, Pui San, In Lunn and Adeline for spending this wonderful farewell with me.
*Sniff* Will certainly miss you all....

Thank you for the wonderful Karaoke + dinner @ Red Box, the Curve...
and well..to the guys whom I spent my next few hours (drinking (a little!) and chatting the nite away with)..thank you for looking out for me and ensuring I got safely home

My last few memories of 1Sentral office..

Overview of our office

View all 12 photos...
1Sentral...probably the last time I'd ever have a chance to step in again, unless I have a valid reason and access to do so.
My PwC office at 1 Sentral - particularly, 14th floor, i.e. the floor where I spent most of my life with, if I'm working back in office. Ext 0795 @ Cubicle 14140 / 14133 was my little quiet "workstation" whilst I am in office. Why the "inverted commas"? Most of us float around the office as we have no fixed workstation. Flexibility, perhaps - but I always wanted my own place.

1Sentral depicts a transparent working atmosphere, with rooms all glass...
Reviews with directors and bosses can be viewed from outside, hence all's clear and transparency in work. Our new office is definitely more superior than the old one (even the cafe's modern and nicer..mm.. - Level 15 called "Cafe Haven")

I'm going to miss this place...more importantly the people whom I had a chance to get to know throughout my 3 years...

Steven's Birthday dinner

Steven and Chu Guan
3 guys...

Happy 25th Birthday, Steven!
Steven's birthday was on 28th March...but only celebrated a dayafter, as PwC FS organised a combined SNG dinner at Sri's place in DJ (organised by Choo Wai and many others)....

Anyway, 4 good friends spending time and happily chit-chatting over dinner
at Omitsu Koshi, Japanese restaurant, situated cosily in the quiet (and growing) township of Damansara Jaya - sadly, next to almost run-down Atria.

Looking back at happy events with friends will always put back that smile on my face

Another year older...

Another year older it is (gasp!). Does the increase in age make a person any wiser and better?
Looking back, a string of accomplishments, hard work, good friendship, experiences and learning left trails behind into my life. Am grateful to be here so far; still standing foot where I am today and making the best of what life has to offer. No doubt as time passes, our priorities in life changes and we run in pursuit of separate dreams. Year 2008 should be undeniably a big change in life (should I allow it to happen).

I count my blessings to be able to share happy breakfast moments with a good friend and family, enjoying good food under the nice morning bliss. Lunch time was another memorable time - get-together with old school friends, and meeting Siti and everyone else whom I haven't met in ages.
Reminiscing happy school moments and pouring over our 'Nostalgia' yearbook certainly brought back lots of memories. Talking about where friends have gone separate ways in life and done things they love makes me feel in awe to be associated with them.
Dinner - how can one not cherish family ties? For a change instead of dinner out, it was Dinner IN the house. Getting everyone together for pizza, satay and yum-yum sushi! (thanks Auntie Jessie) made it just right! A special thank you to a really good friend for the cheesecake (you know who you are - You made my day special in countless ways).

Glad that MY day was on a Saturday (weekend). Yeah! No work, just play

p/s: Unfortunately the aftermath was pretty bad - my notebook crashed and I lost all my work...anyways... it's too late to turn back time now. Moving forward -

Latest update (25/1/2008): Fotopages is taking forever in uploading photos, so here are all the collated photos...

i) New Year's Day and my pre-birthday celebration at Tony Roma's @ The Curve
ii) Uncle Henry's birthday (we're both Capricorn! ) - Family dinner at Kepong
iii) Siti's open-house (conjunction with my actual BD) --> so nice to see all our friends again!
iv) Last but not least, my own dinner party @ home. Birthday is never complete without being surrounded by the people you love.
A special thought goes out to the person who bought me a birthday cake on my birthday. *Hugs* to you for remembering the cake I like . Glad to be able to share the happiness and joy around.

New Year's Day (and early Birthday celebration :))

View all 12 photos...
Happy New Year 2008!

It was originally planned as a mere New Year get together. Jesse suggested "Tony Roma's" at the Curve for lunch, and I thought it was a good idea to catch up and get Fui Yoon together. 3 of us - catching up over a nice meal.
I have to say that it was nice of Fui Yoon (together with Jesse's help) to organise a surprise Birthday celebration for me by inviting some of my closest friends from work. It was really sweet of them. Although some bubbles of surprises were burst before the actual day (hehe...),
well...it is the thought that counts most. Am thankful to enjoy a delicious meal together in the company of wonderful people on New Year's Day.

Christmas season was still "In", so we gals had a great time photo-taking after lunch.
Thank you all for coming My 'Thank You' s go out to Fui Yoon, Jesse, Heng Hee, Chu Guan, Steven and Brenda, and to Sook Yee too (for the thoughts and wishes).... and to all my other friends who dropped me birthday messages. Sze Huey - thx for the pressie I will wear it out sometimes.

Quick Family outing to Klang and Banting

View all 15 photos...
It's a long Christmas break, but not really any holiday plans at the last minute.
My family and I made Thursday a half-day family outing - eating and visit holiday around
the vicinity of Selangor grounds... not too far away from home.

We started off with Klang - for ... ? Yes, you've guessed it - Bak Kut Teh.
Dad brought us to try Bak Kut Teh somewhere at Klang Bahru, but unfortunately for us, the chefs were running a little late, so we decided to eat elsewhere instead of waiting half-an-hour for them to possibly arrive to start up their stove. We tried another place...
I guess one should know that there are more than a 100 places that serve Bak Kut Teh in Klang.

Anyway, after that... my brother and I were told that we would be going to Bukit Tinggi. I was like "Huh? Why Bukit Tinggi?" It just didn't make any sense why we would travel so far to Bukit Tinggi when we were all the way in Klang already. My cluelessness was only temporary when we reached the township of Bukit Tinggi in KLANG itself. Pardon my ignorance, I really didn't know of the existence of such places in Klang. Too many places with the same name can really cause confusions!

We travelled further to Banting, whereby we stopped to check out a famous Chinese Buddhist temple in Banting - Fo Guang Shan (as per pictures below). Quite big and impressive.
I'm sure the temple will be beautiful if the lanterns are all lited up...

Finally, last destination - have you heard of the famous Cendol shop in Klang?
Seriously, there is only one shop in the whole of Klang that sells JUST Cendol, and
it's called "Cendol Klang". Its amazing how a Cendol business can flourish so much

That concludes my half-day holiday. Short but ok . Pretty fun day

Richard Clayderman concert @ Genting!

Outside Ripley's

View all 48 photos...
One night only! I was thrilled when I saw that Richard Clayderman was coming to Malaysian shores again! How disappointed I was the previous many times that I missed out on his concert, hence this time, I wanted so much to attend the concert.
My hopes were low as the many friends whom I thought would be interested didn't really want to attend the concert in the end After all the non-responses, and the Genting website room package were selling off like hotcakes, I really didn't think I had a chance to go this year.
Thanks to Senan - and for all the planning and settling of accommodation, and driving Chui Yee and me up to Genting I think it was a wonderful holiday spent.
Thank you!

What more should I say about Richard Clayderman? He is absolutely remarkable with all that skill at the piano - he's my FAVOURITE pianist!!! How I wished I could play like that.
I should improve my french so that I can watch him in France one day..hehe
I'm fortunate to be able to attend his ONE night concert only at Arena of Stars, Genting on
Friday, 21st Dec 2007 @ 8pm.

Aww... and Christmas season is here! I love Christmas!!!

Great weekend - we stayed at Seri Malaysia @ Gohtong Jaya. Not bad...comes with free local breakfast too.
Met a new friend of Senan's - really nice guy too

Thank you Senan + Chui Yee for the fun and happy memories. ..

Dealing with Crossroads @ Shangrilla Hotel Putrajaya(13-14Dec07)

Ihsan with our 'creation'

First time ever our firm organised a getaway where seniors actually were given some 'mandatory' timeoff and good rest - and yes, no TECHNICAL work to worry about for 2 days of our lives.

Staying at Shangrila Putrajaya and doing what we love best - eating! and relaxing was a heavenly experience. Though most of us were bogged down with work worries back home, I decided that NO notebook should be brought on board and gave myself full allowance to take a break.

We had team building activities, fun sessions, lots of eating and even sharing sessions with our Directors/Partners. Actually to be honest, I feel proud to be associated with PwC!
It's great that we have a good leadership team that tries its best to make our place a better place to work

It's already been a 2 weeks since that day.. can't remember all details, but it was a wonderful experience. Am glad too that mum and dad were invited to share part of my work experience and met some prominent people from the firm as well (during the Dinner)

Haii...nice foto..... salam perkenalan dr zai kedah..boring2 tu singgah kat fp zai sama eak kat http://zbintim.fotopages.com Sun 16-Dec-2007 17:01
