Nice for Mike and Chai Ling to invite me to join in their happy occasion as I missed their

Wesak Day @ Brickfields Maha Vihara
|
|
Wow..I'm actually writing about this posting months after the actual event.
Wesak Day, being a very significant and important day in a Buddhist's life...
I volunteered to help out the registration counter this year...trying to do a bit of my good service
after a long breakaway from temple.
This year's celebration is not as hype as previous years..but still good..and
no matter how, temple used to be like my 2nd home ...remember the ol' days when
I used to go camping

30th Incovar Dhamma Camp

30th Incovar Dhamma Camp - Breaking Conventions, Beyond Incovation...
First time away from Klang Valley to Kuantan, Pahang!
We set sail (rather, road trip) from BGF, SS2 to this serene temple by the lakeside...
for a truly breaking convention experience camp for 4 days, 3 nights starting from
Thurs,11 Dec 2008 to Sun,14 Dec 2008.
The sight of the lake beholds....I could sit there forever and gaze at the mountains, blue sky
and take wonderful pictures under the stars. If only my camera enables me to capture such wonderful powerful pictures. The view is breath-taking - being there with the wind in your face tells a different story - much more than visiting this fotopages site.
My first time being a committee member; good experience - fulfilling, rewarding, exhausting, happy but worth it. Giving back to society - not many have the chance to do something
in a group of friends whom really support and bring out the best in you
Brought Heng Jia along to camp...glad that she liked it a lot
Hope to see many more Incovarians coming back, and bringing more friends to learn the Dhamma.

Hoong-Teng and Jo's wedding
|
|
Another wedding...a posh, grand one... nothing to compete with a row of luxurious Porshe and Audi cars lined up to chaperone the Bride and Bridegroom to a warm family wedding start.
So many pictures yeah..taken mainly by my brother, Wayne.
My credits go out to him in this posting.
I love the flowers...the cake...gosh, everything's just wonderful..perfect.
A Dream wedding? Mm.... That shall just have to wait

Bali Trip! (4-days-3-nites from Sat,30Aug-Tues,3Sept08)
|
|
http://picasaweb.google.com/lifoong/BaliTripSat30AugTues2Sept08#
It's been a superbly long time since I last blogged about my photos...
Been just too busy with moving home, career changes, lotsa stuff... I guess this page has been neglected though I have still been snapping lots of pictures here and there.
Bali trip! There's endless tales to share. How? When? Where? Who?
My first trip taking Msia's budget airline, AirAsia turned out to be an experience exceeding expectations. Of course, can't compare to the comfort of MAS aircrafts, AirAsia is good for short-haul flights, as they whisk you off quickly to your destination without the frills, and entertainment (of course). Main thing is that I got there safely and back, and the beauty of it - no delays...but even half an hour EARLIER arrival. Not bad.
Now that it's already been more than a month since the trip...I can only squeeze out a recap of places/ activities done:
1. Barong and Kris dance at Batubulan
2. Gold and silversmith village at Celuk
3. Mas - the elephant cave at Bedulu
4. Lunch with the fantastic scenic view of Mount Batur (volcano) and its lake at Kintamani
5. Enchanting rice terrace view at Tegallalang
6. Ubud - home of famous painters; Ubud monkey forest
7. Besakih tour - one of the very famous temples in Bali
8. Old court of justice at Klungkung
9. Beautiful sunset at rock temple Uluwatu Tanah lot and romantic dinner by the seaside...
10. Kecak and fire dance at Batubulan again...
What Tiff and I enjoyed the most?
The massage..the shopping...the stay at HARD ROCK HOTEL...
the walking..the relaxation... the chit-chatting..the sharing...
girls' day outs..
In short, it's been a good trip - more relaxing than the HK one...
after a good one, we're all eyes for another trip together again! (when the financial times are better, of course!)

Japanese Language festival at UM (Sat, 26July-Sun,27July08)
|
|
Very few photos...but basically, I came across this festival when Woei King (Tiffany)and I went for a Treasurez workshop on DIY activities..and this Jap festival caught my eye as I was putting the flyers away.
Mostly with students from Jap clubs, we participated in their many activities in promotion of Japanese culture. I attended abacus class and Odori (a Jap dance).. quite interesting!
We tried out some Jap light snacks...made special by students manning stalls to raise fund.
All in all - quite interesting experience
