Sydney Main Attractions - Sydney Bridge and Opera House
|
|
Sydney's main attractions: Circular Quay, The Rocks and Darling Harbour were not to be missed!
Justyn, my main tour guide around Sydney City was a good host indeed.
Met up with Poh Lynn on Sunday to spend the day together. It was fun.
Note: Government House was located at the Royal Botanic Gardens, just close to Circular Quay.
Spectacular panaromic view of Sydney bridge and Opera house in one nice shot.
Ate loads of nice food too - Justyn brought me to eat Pancakes (super yum!) and even tried out Portugese Chicken Burger (Oporto). Besides that, I had a chance to visit Paddy's Market to do some shopping

NSW - Blue Mountains
|
|
Blue Mountains : NSW's landscape of pretty blue mountains...so lovely and nice during winter.
The main highlight is definitely the 3 sisters. Check out the photos!
The journey from Sydney Central to Katoomba took 2 hours train... but it was certainly worth it!
It's cold up there (especially since it's peak of winter) despite the non-stop walking & bus-hopping with the Explorer bus.
Cool experience

Sydney trip (3/7/04-7/7/04) : University of Sydney
|
|
The trip to Sydney trip was soooo much fun! I was in Sydney from Sat, 3rd July 2004 up till Wed, 7th July 2004. Had a superb time
My visit to University of Sydney certainly opened my eyes to a lovely uni situated just adjacent to the Happening city of Sydney. The uni is so beautiful!
Walking up the pathway from the Victoria Gardens all the way to the main clock tower gave a sudden calm feeling being away from the busy city. Cool place to study.

Connor's 25th Birthday (15 May) & Tom's 21'st Birthday (23 May)
|
|
~ 31 May 2004 ~ Sorry for the late posting of photos! My notebook unfortunately crashed 2 weeks back...and it had been a miserable fortnight without MSN and internet connection.
Memories of birthday celebrations of my 2 good friends at Union - Connor (Singapore) & Tom (Kiwi/ Australian).
Connor's birthday : Piak's room after midnight .. so much fun. We watched American Pie 2 after the cake-cutting and photo taking.
Tom's birthday BBQ surprise (celebrated on Sat, 22nd May) : It was just superb!!! To make it extra special since Tom was turning 21 (yippie!), Connor got together his other friends: Shingo (from Japan), and 3 Korean Guys (Steven, Ji-Ho and Jin Ha) to cook up a scrumptuous Korean BBQ at SouthBank.
Soooo delicious - how's Beef Bulgogi and Kimchi + pita bread sound? Yum!!!
We had a simple cake thereafter, followed by blindfolding Tom to open his huge Birthday surprise - a set of swords from Chinatown! Haha... not forgetting, some nice clean socks and chocolate to go with the package. Having BBQ at SouthBank was simply the BEST!

UQMSA trip to Byron Bay,NSW (Sat, 8th May 2004)
|
|
Despite the cloudy weather and light rain, that didn't stop us from having loads of fun at Byron Bay. Byron Bay is situated at north NSW, a 2 1/2 hour bus ride from Brisbane, passing by Gold Coast.. and continue on to Byron Bay. My first trip BEYOND the borders of Queensland.
It was certainly worth the long bus ride...kicked off with Nasi Lemak lunch (compliments of UQMSA), and off to the beach we went!
My favourite moments were during the 30min free&easy photo taking from the lighthouse. The view was absolutely fabulous. The scenic beauty of the sea is simply breath-taking!!!
All in all, a wonderful day indeed...hope I can go again next time
