PwC KSP KL - PD Treasure Hunt! Catch Herbie - the Love Bug!

Herbie no 62!
Ice kacang..yummy..
Another one? Nah, it's the same one!

Treasure Hunt! Catch Herbie - the Love Bug! It's been an eventful, tiring, fun, exciting competition organised by the firm over the weekend. KL - PD motor Treasure Hunt was just right... everyone was looking forward to it, enthusiastic and geared with dictionaries, thesarus etc. My team too... I was the navigator. My team mates : Chong Wei (driver), Me (Navigator), Woei King and Grace (Passengers). [Team no 62 "Super Shots" ]
So much to tell...what to say? Where to begin? Initial kick-off was really funny...coz I (entrusted with role of Navigator) led my driver to a wrong turning...losing some precious time... hehe..
but somehow or rather, we (the whole team) started getting better with navigations, and cracking the encrypted clues. Of course, still plenty of mistakes (as we uncovered during the dinner when all answers were released), I think we did a great job. Wanna say a big Thanx to my team for the co-operation, effort and team work! Of course, to Chong Wei - for being the only guy in the girls' team Really appreciate him enduring the tiring long drives (with a manual car) without any whines and complaints whatsoever and accommodating all our needs.

Haha..not mentioning the late midnight yum cha we had together yesterday...
when the other ppl preferred drinking in the hotel. The night car ride...and walks on the beach...

A RM80 worth well-spent on a nice cosy hotel by the beach (Selesa Beach Resort).., buffett dinner and lunch at the Grand Ballroom, a fun day of Treasure Hunt, and Free & Easy time with friends over a weekend getaway. Just heavenly!

It's been a long weekend for me...
but great one!

Gonna sign off...a fun, exciting weekend to remember...

Karaoke cum Yum Cha at The Curve

My first visit to the Curve! Amazing... I live oh, not-so-far away, but yet always cook up excuses as to why I haven't visited this large, famous shopping complex in the heart of Mutiara Damansara. The layout is fabulous - brings back an atmosphere of SouthBank markets or Chinatown.
Thanx to Ti Kean for suggesting the idea - Karaoke at RedBox at the Curve seem to hit the target. Quite sad because some were not able to turn up at the last minute, but it's okay...the 7 of us : Herng Yih, Ti Kean, Yoke Mun, Chui Yee, Siti, Chuan Jye and myself had a great time together
Just 4 pictures taken at the Marche ("Market" in French language) . I don't know why...but when I look at the pictures, I just have to smile reminiscing the afternoon I just experienced.

PwC Bi-annual dinner 2005! Everyone says that we're lucky to join this year to enjoy a dinner which only takes place once every 2 years...so yes, I do feel lucky then
Theme: Masquerade Nite. Was everyone masked up for the event? I did note some really fanciful costumes...people who must have been masqueREADY for the event in advance to clinch the "best-dressed" titles! Good for them
Do feel blessed though - I was really upset the day before as I almost couldn't attend the dinner and had to work. Lady luck must have been on my side then - after much planning and anticipation, I've been blessed to experience an enjoyable time with my friends.
Wanna say a big thanx to Steven too for coming to chauffer me from home to dinner and safely back home in the wee hours of the night Thanx ya !
So much to tell in such a small column. Comical performance by Leonard Tan was awesome.
Those who were there to enjoy his hillarious "commercials" introduction and political teasers would know what I mean!

Alrighty, not going to brag too much... sorry I don't have pix of the really "dressed-up" people during the event. My camera ran out on me.
p/s: Even my firm ex-chairman was wearing a Saudi Arabian clad costume (go figure ) and Dato' Johan (current PwC Chairman) was elegantly dressed with a mask to go with
These people are cool....

PwC, "We are the Champions"

Thanx for Chong Wei for some additional pictures

Community Outreach Programme (11/7/05 - 21/7/05) @ Rumah Juara

My share of community service, compliments of PwC with Rumah Juara was an enriching experience indeed. For 2 weeks of my time, I had this opportunity to spend some time with the kids at Rumah Juara (situated at Section 1, PJ old town) - to educate, play and have fun with them. The younger kids are oh, so adorable and cute... it's hard not to like them and give them sweets. Hehe... but I was teaching the older kids - from Level 3, Level 6 and Secondary children. More preparation to teach them, especially in science, and essay writing... can be quite a challenge, but at the end of the day, I know I did my best.
Well, pictures can say a thousand words. Savour them!

My morning class students: Michelle,Nancy,Glory,Mary,Theresah,Joshua,Raymond,Steven,Salomi,George, and Jeffral

Afternoon class: Ruth (Form 2), occasionally Peter, Kevin, Ester and Victoria

Kelab Sukan PricewaterhouseCoopes 2005 nite at Renaissance Hotel , Kuala Lumpur turned out to be a wonderful success!
Guess what? In the most unexpected circumstances, I heard the latest news that my group performance (combination of Feb / Mar '05) actually won first place!
My "more senior colleagues" commented that it was one of the best KSP nites so far.
Hip-hip Hooray! I don't think it would all have happened if not for every single person who pioneered the idea...to the very last person who showed up to help in the performance.

A happy experience to kick off my life as an Associate here at PwC. Looking forward to more exciting times

Lovely feeling embeded within meeting up with friends whom you haven't seen for ages.
I was just counting the number of years we DJ-ians have grown up from innocent Form 1 students then...up till now... some finishing up uni, and some (like myself) starting the life of a working corporate person.

Chill out!

Chill out everyone!
FS Assurance Nite is here....
Top Hat Restaurant in KL - quite retro place - standalone bungalow in the city centre of KL... near to distinct landmarks like KLCC and clubbing areas of Jln Ampang.

The FS division was kind enough to organise an event just for us ASSURANCE ppl who have worked hard during the year...to relax...and well, to start another cycle of hard work which will be coming along soon from July onwards.

Met lots of new people - managers, associates, seniors... gosh, people I have never seen around office during my AT Bhd days (in lay man terms: "while on no jobs, and sitting in office"). Great fun! Feels good to chill out once in a while

PwC FS Rocks!
